This “About Us” Video is a brief history of Reliable Aftermarket Parts
I feel fortunate to have been selected to produce and film a captivating culture piece for Reliable Aftermarket Parts of Williamston Michigan. Crafting Culture Videos or “About Us” videos is a powerful way to narrate a company’s journey and cultivate a dedicated fan base among clients. This company, with its humble origins and subsequent evolution into an online tractor parts business with multiple locations on Grand River, exemplifies the ideal subject for an engaging online video.
In my role as a producer and videographer, I had the opportunity to sit down with the company’s Owner, Tom Salisbury, for an in-depth interview that formed the foundation of their compelling “About Story” video. I helped decide what interview questions were relevant to tell the parts of the story they wanted. Tom’s active and intelligent involvement in the day-to-day operations of his business was a refreshing departure from the norm among company owners. After-all he was the one to build this company up making it the giant is now is, when he decided to take his business online.
During the initial stages of the shoot, Reliable hosted a tractor pull event—an aspect of culture and sport that was unfamiliar to me. Witnessing individuals pulling weights on tractors, judged by speed and power, was a fascinating experience. It was intriguing to see these tractors being pushed to their limits, sometimes resulting in breakdowns. Only for them to be towed back, repaired and then dragged again. It was a fun day capturing the action and flying the drone above.
After filming the interview with Tom, I had a shot list of broll to capture at headquarters. The primary filming took place in the warehouse, where the conditions were hot and humid. Despite the challenging environment, delving into Reliable’s business operations was enlightening. Exploring how they leveraged technology to enhance their efficiency was particularly noteworthy.
Although the editing process was extensive, I am pleased with the final outcome, capturing the essence of the company’s story through carefully scripted interview questions and visually compelling footage.
